Snow and Ice

Hello everyone! I hope all of you had a great week! My week was fairly uneventful because of the large amount of snow and ice. Classes were delayed and canceled for most of the week, which was certainly necessary due to the wintery conditions. Wednesday my roommates and I were able to trek through the snow and ice across campus in order to go sledding! The York College campus has an amazing hill across from the school for students to sled on and play in the snow. Needless to say, on the way to the hill each of my roommates and I slipped and feel on the ice a couple of times but we were protected by our layers of snow clothes!
The rest of my time off has been spent reading book chapters for class and preparing for three exams that I have in the coming week. I was supposed to have one of them this past Wednesday but the large amount of snow delayed this test. Hopefully I will be able to fully prepare for each exam and do well on all of them.
I hope everyone has a great upcoming week. Talk to you next time!

It's Cold Outside!

Hello! I hope everyone had a great weekend! It has been a very cold week in York. We got some snow, which would have made walking to class fairly unpleasant; however, since our classroom buildings connect together, students do not have to walk outside in the freezing or rainy weather. Also, we have a shuttle that transports students around main campus and west campus. I am so thankful for the shuttle at this time of year! I have classes on west campus Monday through Thursday and it is always nice to know that I have a ride. The shuttle gets me to and from class and keeps me out of the cold!
This week has been very hectic. I have been surveying students in order to collect data for my Research Methods class. Also, I have been preparing for my first exam in Punishment/Corrections as well. The test is on Wednesday and I still have a lot of studying to do. I have been reviewing book chapters all weekend and will move onto class notes Monday. As you can probably guess, I have been spending a great deal of time in the library. I really enjoy studying on the large comfy sofas! They provide the comfort of home but in a quiet location away from distractions like the internet and television.
I hope everyone has a great week and a Happy Valentine's Day! Wish me luck on my exam! Talk to you next time.

Busy Week

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great week! Because my week was filled with classes and school work, time seemed to pass rather quickly. This week my evenings have been consumed with reading for my Punishment/Corrections class, which I have an exam in next Wednesday. I’m sure the upcoming week will be filled with studying for this test.
Monday I gave my first campus tour of the semester at 11:30. The group of prospective students and parents were very enthusiastic to tour the campus and came with a number of excellent questions about student life and general questions about York College. Because I remember what an exciting yet difficult time it is to choose a college and decide on a major, I really enjoy helping juniors and seniors in need of direction.
This weekend I have been studying for a Research Methods exam that I have on Monday. Sometimes I end up getting overly stressed out about tests but a great thing about college is the people I choose to surround myself with. To de-stress my roommates and I will take a walk to the bookstore an buy candy or order a pizza from Yorktown (a local pizza place). We also take frequent trips to the Grumbacher Sport and Fitness Center to workout. Needless to say, I have done all of these things this weekend!
Well I better get back to studying. I hope all of you have a great week! Talk to you next time.
