Back to School
Hello! I hope everyone had a great week. My week was filled with reading and writing a small assignment for Punishment/Corrections class. I also began my modern dance class this week. The first day of gym class is typically reserved for telling students information about the upcoming classes and what materials they will need for the course, which is why it did not officially begin last week. The class seems like it will be very enjoyable, because it is a good way relax during the week and take a break from other studies. Even though I have not taken dance lessions since I was about twelve, I feel completly comfortable because many other students have never had any dance experience in their life. I have my first examination in Research Methods II this Friday. I am pretty nervous because it involves statistics, but I am meeting with other members of the class to hold a study group in Schmidt Library in order to fully prepare for the test. I have found that holding study sessions in the library is a great help when it comes to subjects that I am not as familiar with. Schmidt library has a number of study rooms for students to rent out, free of charge, for any type of group needs. I have even met with adjunct faculty members (who do not have a designated office space) to discuss class projects. This week was also very exciting because I found out what my internship will be for the Summer of 2007. I will be assisting one of my current professors with a summer introduction to criminal justice course he is instructing during the minimester section of classes. This is my ideal internship because of my interest in ony day being a professor of criminal justice. I am very excited for this opportunity. Hopefully I will also be able to conduct research in the criminal justice field with a professor as well and attain publication.
I began giving campus tours on Monday and I have a very busy week of studying ahead of me. I hope everyone has great upcoming week. Talk to you next time.
