And then there were two...
Oh. My.
Well, this week has been amazing and wonderful and chaotic and... I'll just give you the list.
Saturday: CHAOS REIGNS IN MY SUITE!!! Six girls, Mitch Hedberg, Ediie Izzard, and an hour-and-a-half long pillow fight.
Sunday: CHAOS REIGNS IN MY SUITE!!!! With good reason. It's my friend's birthday, so we blow up over 30 balloons, listen to HIM, have cake (with cupcakes sporting plastic ducks on top of it) and ice cream, and have a long fight with the balloons.
Apparently we like hitting eachother with random objects. But then again, I knew that already.
Monday: I arrive groggy to class. After classes we have an officer's meeting for Earth's E.C.O. and hash out our budget. We've got some awesome plans for this year! We're bringing live owls to UNE, cleaning up the campus, getting involved in social/environmental activism, and oh so much more! You'll behearing quite a bit about this club from my blog, since it takes up 1/2 of my time.
Tuesday: American Literature in the morning. The class starts getting into a decent debate about the reading before we have to "refocus our attention." After class I go out into the woods to finish my lab for Conservation and Preservation with my partner. I get to spend two hours looking at BEAUTIFUL foliage and identifying wetland plants and call it homework. Oh my. I am SO devestated. Whatever shall I do? After lab I go to dinner, and then I go to a meeting of The Alliance, the GLBTQQI and Straight club on campus. (SIDE NOTE: That is too many terms! Gay Lesbian Bisexual Transexual Questioning Queer Intersex... ::sigh::... and of course there are so many others that could be included...). The meetings are always fun, just a bunch of people getting together and talking about EVERYTHING. I mean that.
Wednesday: ::sigh:: Well... Classes were interesting. Some were not all that fun, but Brit Lit was hilarious as usual. Our professor actually acted out scenes from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Then there's the Earth's E.C.O. meeting. (SIDE NOTE: If you're interested in the club check out our group on Facebook. We post updates and info there a lot.) We had a lot of fun this meeting making signs for our Fall Cleanup day on October 15th. We're cleaning the ENTIRE campus. The cigarette butts are vile. After the meeting, I realize the amount of homework I have to do... and then promptly get distracted. Ah well.
Thursday: Class 11 am- 9 pm. OUCH! Well... not really. Four hours of that is going out and playing in the woods for Conservation and Preservation. My lab partner and I found a PERFECT star-gazing rock. It's about 20 feet long and 10 feet wide, with a huge opening of the canopy right above. We promptly got lost in the woods 3 times because the beauty distracted us... and never got to finsh our lab. We're going back this weekend. I'm SO dissapointed that I have to spend time outside... ;) My evening class was Displaced Cultures. This class was, as usual, sad but AMAZING. We watched a movie about a young girl who was kidnapped from her mother in the name of the law and walked over a thousand miles with her sister and cousin to return home. I wish I could go into more detail, but that's for another entry.
Friday: Today I had work, which amounted to making over 100 scatterplots on Microsoft Excel while listening to good music. Tedious, but the music makes it all better!
And those are the cliffnotes of my week thus far. Of course there was much more, but this entry is long enough. Now I look forward to a GREAT long weekend. No one is on campus, which means... CHAOS IN MY SUITE!!!!
This is becoming a trend...
Until next time... when I will have pictures! :)
