Busy, Busy, Busy!!

Hello All! How is everything going? I know it seems like I haven't written in a while, but I really wanted to do one entry for this whole week...so much has gone on! But before I tell you all about my week, I have a couple questions to answer!

Andrew- Scheduling for classes for you fall semester will basically be done for you when you get to orientation. There are classes that are required for your major and for all students at UNE, most of them you take your freshman year. When you come to Orientation you will meet with a professor from your major and they will give you your schedule. After that, you'll be able to go online and change things and add electives and stuff. I ended up adding an African Drumming class, which counts for your art credits. In college, everyday is different. Each day starts and ends differently every day too. Last semester I had 8:00 classes everyday and was usually done around 4 or 5 (except my drumming class which didn't get out until 9 pm one day a week). So, I guess it's really hard to say how your schedule will be until you get it this summer. I hope this helps.

Malin- That's awesome that you want to get involved with M.A.R.C. I would probably say that you should wait until you get to school. If you do Experience UNE day this spring they will probably have a table and you can talk to them. If you don't, at the beginning of the fall semester, there's a fair type thing where all the Clubs and Organizations have tables set up in the quad and you can go around and meet them and sign up for the club if you'd like. Enjoy the rest of your semester.

So, now on to the exciting week that I've had. Last Friday we had our annual off campus semi formal. It was so much fun. Before we went, my friends and I went to the Macaroni Grill for dinner. I had never been there, it was really good. After dinner we headed off to the Italian Heritage Center where the dance was located. We stayed until the very last song, and then headed back to school. I was extremely tired, but it was definitely worth all the fun.

Here's a pic of Laurel, Ashley, Doug, Danielle, Me, and Ashley before we left UNE

On Saturday Doug, Dan, the Ashleys and I decided we wanted to go bowling. Apparently the closest "big ball" bowling is in Portland and we didn't want to go that far so we went to Vacationland Bowling in Saco which is candlepin bowling. It was really fun!

Here's Me and Doug waiting to take our turns

Wednesday Night there was the 32nd Annual Doc Samuels Variety Show. It was basically a big talent show in the gym. I didn't get to take any pictures because I was doing one of the spotlights, but it was really good. There was some good sketches and singers.

Thursday night there was the Miss UNE pageant. Four guys dressed as girls and did a pageant. It was really funny...they went all out and even shaved their bodies and got wigs and borrowed girls' clothes and stuff. They all did such a great job. I didn't get any of my own pictures because like Wendesday I did the spotlight, but I found some one facebook that I'll show you.

Here were the four contestants, the one on the right end was the winner.

Now, I'm home for Easter weekend. Unfortunately we didn't get any extra time off besdies the regular weekend, so I only get to stay for two nights.

I hope your semesters are winding down well. I only have four weeks left, I am definitely ready for the summer! And always remember: comments and questions are definitely welcome!

-Andrew-
