Not Creative Enough for a Good Title

So, this week has been pretty good! But before I go into that I just wanted to congratulate Liz on being accepted to UNE!!! And to also thank her for asking how my RA interviews went (I'll tell more about them later) You're gonna love it here Liz...I DO!!

Early in the week I had my two interviews for RA!!! On Monday I left English to venture out into the tundra (it was wicked cold and wicked windy)! I had my interview with Laura and Amber (both pro-staff in the housing office). The interview, I think, went really well! Laura and Amber were really fun to talk to, it was more like a formal conversation rather than an interview! That helped me overcome my nerves...I was wicked nervous before! I felt really good coming out of that interview, but with 46 aplicants for 22 spots....I'll be nervous until the second I open up my letter (which will hopefully say I got the job). Later Monday night I had an interview with the Avila 2nd RA, Tyler. It was fun; he asked me questions and then I went on a round with him. That was a more laid back interview, but it still made me nervous! So, next Sunday I have a group processing day and then on March 6th, I get a letter saying whether or not I got the job. After that, if I get the job, I have 3 days to decide whether I'll take it or not (OBVIOUSLY I will!). So, keep your fingers crossed for me, and who knows...maybe I'll be your RA next year!!!

Last week sometime I got an invitation to the Leadership Banquet for this past Wednesday night. I felt honored that I got an invite and RSVP'd almost immediately. The banquet was really nice. There was a semi-formal dress code and we were served a nice dinner (Sodhexo catering isn't that bad...). There were even star shaped ice sculptures on some of the tables! The keynote speaker was Bill Irwin, the only blind person to have completed the entire Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine!! He was so amazing and inspiring and really funny! I am so glad that I went to this event because it was great!

This weekend I worked my life away at Ruby Tuesday in Biddeford! I worked Friday night until about 10:00 and then Saturday i worked from 11:00 to 9:00-ish. I made good money, but I was exhausted afterward! I slept in 'til after 11:00 this morning!! I'm even more excited about work now because Emily and Kayla (girls from down the hall) both got jobs there too...all thanks to me, of course! hah!

Tonight was good too! I'm part of a program-type-thing called Community Conversations, which is basically 12 students and 12 staff and member from the community that get together after reading portions of the book The Civically Engaged Reader. Tonight we took a van to the Buxton town hall and had a really nice catered dinner. I'm glad I'm doing this project for civic engagement! It's really fun and it's only one night a month, which is good with my crazy, busy schedule!

Other than that, nothing else is really going on!! I'm having a great time here at UNE, but I am excited for Spring Break when I can go home for a bit!!

Night All!!
