Are You Serious?
Just thought I'd tell ya'll a funny story. So, it's Monday night and Andrew's sound asleep in his bed. All of a sudden, Andrew is awoken by a loud noise that won't stop. After becoming more conscious, he realizes that it's the fire alarm and it's 4:00...IN THE MORNING!!!!! I knew it was freezing outside, so I threw on some warmer clothes and headed outside. We immediately knew that we were in no danger (other than our precious ears from the alarms) and were all mad that we were woken up. The alarm stopped and we thought we could go back in, but it started again. We waited outside for a good 10-15 minutes and then instead of going back to our rooms....we had to go to the St. Francis room (in the bottom of the library) because they couldn't fix the system. We didn't get back to our rooms until almost 5:00 and I had to get up for an 8:00 chem lecture in just a couple hours later....those were the longest 50 minutes of Chem I've ever experienced.
We all wanted to know what happened and we were informed that the residents on the second floor were being really smart and were playing football in the hall and knocked off one of the smoke detectors. Because it was broken, facilities had to come fix the dectector and reset the system. This is what caused us to be woken up so early!!! We also found out that one of the people involved in breaking the decector didn't even live in our dorm!!!
Three morals to this story:
1.When the weather gets cold, have warm clothes ready just in case you have to go outside and random hours of the night.
2. Don't play ball in the hallway...it never ends up being good.
3. If you have a guest, even if they go to school here....put a leash on them and don't let them mess with the dorm.
Because of this incident, unless somebody fesses up, we ALL have to pay a fine. Now, this made us mad and then we were also informed that the second floor has done other dectructive things to their floor, which has caused us other fines already!!!! Now, I don't want to sound like a jerk, but, come on. When you come to college, be mature and considerate...it's the right thing to do!!!
Now, for some good news. Autumn is here!!! I love the cool, crisp weather, and the smell of the leaves. This is one of my favorite things about Maine!!! Also, I think I may be going out surfing this weekend!!! I'm in the surf club, yet I've never been out surfing, so I'm excited to finally get out there and learn!!!
Arrivederci!!
