Halloween in Maine

Hey everyone! Well it’s starting to feel like fall, which is nice because I really enjoy the weather this time of the year. Not too warm, not too cold. Perfect. I have been pretty busy this week keeping up with class work and readings. So I guess I can’t spend too much time enjoying this nice weather.

Anyways along with the nice fall weather to look forward to there is also one other thing to look forward to- Halloween! If any of you are wondering what to do for Halloween here is a short list of local attractions.

For starters may I recommend a Haunted Hay Ride? Probably one of the most popular hayrides in Maine is the Haunted Hayrides located at Scarborough Downs.

Looking for some haunted house fright? Why not try Fright at the Fort up at the Fort Knox State Historic Site in Prospect, Maine on October 26 (FMI call 207-469-6553)

Another alternative to the hayrides and haunted houses is the theater. Listen to a live, staged reading of Dracula on October 27 at the Freeport Community Players. The event begins at 8pm FMI call 207-865-2220

And as always there are the local movie theaters playing the latest frightful horror movies…if you dare.

If you find yourself in Portland then maybe you can go to the annual Halloween Parade at Reiche School at 6:20pm in Portland, Maine on October 31.

Hope you see that there is plenty going on and the Halloween spirit lives on, even in college!
