Year in Review
Well it’s the end of the year for me! I just completed my final Final (that sounds weird doesn’t it?). It was my Nursing Final so you can imagine the hours and hours I spent studying to refresh all the material we learned back in January. “Diverticulas…oh yeah pita pockets in the colon!” I am happy to be done, but on the other had I am very excited for the year to come! Looking back I have come so far in being a nurse. UNE has definitely taught me a lot! By now many of you have your acceptance letters and you may already be planning for your first year of college, it’s definitely a thrilling challenge.
That’s why I’m having my YEAR IN REVIEW
~First Semester
- Wow college this is going to be fun
- 7am wake up calls from the leaf blower...What!
- The “GAH! I’m lost!” moments while driving through Portland
- Taking body sculpting, pilates, and cycling classess at the gym- those were so fun!
- Realizing I’ve never read so much from a textbook in my life
- Starting clinical – I was so nervous! But it helped me learn to talk with patients about there bowel movements
- Taking my first Final, wasn’t as bad as I thought it was
~Second Semester
- Wow, this getting harder
- OMG I’m going to be working in an actual hospital now!
- Snow = hassle
- No power = No life
- Realizing there has been a Birkenstock Sandal outside our dorm door for over 5 months.
- I now wear my reading glasses religiously
- Waking up at 5:30am for clinical, no big deal
- Waking up at midnight in a dreamy daze from a street sweeper makes me think it’s a plane crashing into my room
- Finishing up for the year, it flew by!
- Packing up everything in my room, and saying goodbye!
What is one big lesson I have learned this year? My education is worth it!
