Second Semester
It's the second semester! This is an exciting time full of new experiences. For starters nursing students will be starting clinical on the med-surg. floor of some local hospitals (Maine med, Mercy, New England rehab. & Southern Maine med. center). What is also new about our clinicals is we'll soon be having more nursing responsibility over our patients, and this is exciting in the way we'll be learning more hands on. I really can't wait till we start!
I do know (this is big news) that the University of New England is expanding its specialties in the medical field. Soon my school will be granting degrees in Pharmacology to students training to be Pharmacist. This is an important bulletin because now they'll be a pharmacology school north of Massachusetts. What is also nice about UNE having a pharmacology school is that Maine's pharmacist shortage may soon be alleviated.
The year is half-way over, and I hope it will be great till the end!
