Cheap Books....

I can't believe that the beginning of the semester is right around the corner. Classes don't start until Jan. 22, but field started on Jan. 2nd. I think that it would be ideal for them to start at the same time, but I don't make the rules.

***Here's a tip that I hope will help you save some money on your books: Before I left to go to Tennessee for Christmas, I contacted my professors for this semester to find out what books I would need for their classes. After I received the title, author, and edition, I started pricing the books (both new and used) on www.amazon.com , at the school bookstore, and on www.half.com . You should be able to find most of your books cheaper online than if you were to purchase them through the school bookstore.

***Here is a word of caution: Make sure that you have your books arrive in plenty of time before the class starts. If you can, ask the prof. for a copy of the syllabus to determine what books you need immediately.

Another great tip for acquiring books: the library! One of my classes is using books from 1994, so because it is an older edition, the book is available to be checked out from the library. Many of the profs will put their texts on reserve at the library if they are the most recent edition, but you cannot check the text out if it is on reserve.

I hope this info helps! I'm all about doing what I can to save money.

For those of you who have been praying for my dad, thank you so much. He is hanging in there. We are taking one day at a time. Please pray specifically that the tumor is shrinking and that he would be out of pain.

Thanks...feel free to email me or send a comment! I love reading what you have to say.
