Class: 2010
Major: Accounting, Minor in Spanish
Hometown: Jersey City, NJ
High School: William L. Dickinson
Activities/Clubs: Pavo Society, Indo-Pak Club, Multicultural Heritage Club, Tutor in English Composition
in the CALL Center, Work-study student in Community Service, Member of the Student Center Building, and
Volunteer-Worker for Obama's Presidential Campaign.
One random fact about me: I'm a total bookworm. I love reading romance novels by Nora Roberts and Sandra
Brown and, yet I enjoy spending hours on all the Harry Potter books.
Favorite SPC Memory: Meeting and shaking hands with Barack Obama at SPC would be the best SPC memory
just because it was the first time I met a presidential candidate.
Advice for incoming freshman: The advice I would give to the incoming freshman class is to take advantage
of all the great opportunities SPC offers. In particularly, join as many clubs on campus and do not be afraid to
do something new, like going to service trip outside of the U.S.! At the end of the day, if you do all that, your
college experience here at SPC would enhance.
Guess whose back? ME! Hey, long time no blog!

I’M OFFICIALLY A SENIOR! CLASS OF 2010, YAY! I can’t believe three years have completed and this coming May, I will graduate with my Bachelor of Science in Accountancy degree. So let me back track a minute and tell you about summer. My summer was all about work and no play! I was busy this summer taking summer classes and interning at Travel Advocates as their Accounting Coordinator. I got firsthand experience on how a travel and tourism company handles their accounts receivables. The clients I worked with were all the big name hotel brands such as the Marriot, Wyndham, and many more! What I thought that was really great about Travel Advocates was that we helped all kinds of groups book their hotel accommodations without any cost to them. In this way, I got the opportunity to set up hotel stays for guest all over the United States and Canada. The following is the link to their website: http://traveladvocates.com/about.html , definitely check them out for your hotel needs! Besides working, I did a few fun things with my family such as celebrating my sister’s graduation and her birthday, and visiting a friend of mine in Cape May, NJ. The following are pictures from the all celebrations to visiting in Cape May:
Here is a picture from my sister’s graduation party of my sister (in pink and white), my cousin, my sister’s friends, and myself (in black and red).

Just me hang on the Cape May beach

This picture is truly the hallmark of Cape May

Being silly, and as part of family tradition, the birthday kid (my sister in this case) always gets a cake smear on the cheek. (From left to right is my cousin, me and my sister hanging out in Steinway in Long Island City)

Heading home, but wanted to take a quick picture with my cousin before we called it a night!

GUESS WHAT?! My sister is a freshman at SPC! My sister choose to come to Saint Peter’s this Fall because of the distance from my home (just about 5-6 blocks), the great program for Psychology, and real helpful financial aid package. Since we started school, I’ve already been on planning mood in hosting some great events. Senior year is all about Junior/Senior Formal, Senior Week, and Senior Gift. As soon as the Class of 2010’s plans start to unfold, I will definitely keep you posted! Anyway, I better head to bed, I’ve got class first thing 9 a.m. Stay tune to my next blog! See ya!
Hiya!
Long time no talk! It has been a crazy and very busy time for me since the last time I blogged. The Six Flag trip and my favorite, the Whitewater rafting trip were amazing! Here are a few pics from the Whiterwater Rafting trip>>>
This is my “I’m ready to raft 12 mile any day any time” pose

I love adventures like these!

The cold water of Leigh Gorge River and I became very good friends because of the number of times I fell into it!

Then we had Junior/Senior formal, which was a beautiful event. The Graycliff in Moonachie, NJ was a place that I went to when I was in high school for an Exit Day lunch. Check out some of my pictures from the formal:
The Dream Team for Next Year! (Class of 2011 President, Kat,Class of 2010 Vice President, ME, and Class of 2010 President, Ant)

Yes Yes I borrowed my sister’s dress, it looks better on me I must say!

And here is a close up picture of me, I defiantly felt like a princess with the jewelry & the make-up.

Well finals and projects are finally over! And now I’m in total summer mood. I’ve already started my summer reading with “A Thousand Splendid Suns” by Khaled Hosseini. So far so good! The game plan for the summer for me is doing summer reading, working, and taking a summer class. Stay tuned to rest of my summer extravaganzas!
İHola!
So a lot has happened this week...here is a quick update... this past Monday we had elections for Student Government positions, and I was re-elected as Vice President of the Class of 2010..yay! I love my position and I am so excited to represent my Class once again but this time I will be a senior in August (WOW!) As a VP I get to meet my fellow class members and make changes for them on campus, like hosting events on campus.
After a long and waited time period, I finally got my four wisdom teeth removed on Wednesday. Trust me…it was not fun. Everyone has told me that my face looks pretty good for someone who underwent such surgery in the mouth. I MUST HAVE BEEN THE LUCKY ONE! It really is so difficult not talk for someone like me. Because I do a lot of talking, my mouth has been hurting a lot. Hopefully I will get better by the end of this new week!
Friday, I totally had a blast with my sister! We went to the Village in NYC to buy her prom dress for her high school prom. After doing some final shopping around, we FINALLY FOUND THE DRESS! It isn’t your average prom dress which is why I really liked it. Here is a picture of the dress, isn’t it beautiful?

Then came Saturday, OPEN HOUSE! The turnout of all the prospective students and families was wonderful and the weather was amazing! During the spring season Saint Peter’s beautifies the college by planting all new flowers. Here are some pictures of the Open House including some eye catching flowers planted in the Quad.

I am so in love with this tree, it's so pretty!

This is Mike, our Freshmen speaker at the Open House Welcome Address and did a great job speaking about his experiences here at SPC.

Here is Megan, an recent alumna of the college and an Admission Counselor & Juan, who is a Senior member of the Pavo Society. I was a fan of the balloons Megan was holding at the end of the Open House.
Today was the Six Flags trip! We had a large group of students go this morning at 9 AM. I didn’t go because I am not really a fan of roller coasters because I get sick but I helped set up breakfast for everyone. Hopefully when they get back tonight, I can post some photos of their amazing time at Six Flags.
Well that was the update of the week. I really can’t believe it is over! How quickly time flies when you’re having fun, right? My life is defiantly never boring, so stay tune for my next blog! İAdios!
Hi Again!
It has been such a hectic week for me since the last time I blogged. Just a quick update from my last blog, I got a 15 OUT OF 15 on my Cross burning presentation. I was really nervous at first but my professor said I did a great job on presenting the facts. After presenting such a difficult topic, I am so prepared for future presentations.
At the moment, I'm co-hosting a three day event called Peacock Adventure Days, which includes Paintball shooting, Whitewater Rafting, and Six Flags. Last week, we had about 60 of our students who went to our Paintball shooting trip with Skirmish USA. It was good times!

Here is a picture we took before battling. We fought hard on the battle field!

Here is a picture of some of the E-board members who helped me host this event. Far left, is Samantha (VP of the Class of 2011, and is a great person to know), in the middle is Anthony ( the President of the Class of 2010, and my right hand man) and on the far right is Kat ( President of the Class of 2011, and is one of the most down to earth person that I know.)
I am preparing for our last two Peacock Adventure Day trips. One of which is Six Flags which will take place in two more weeks! WE'VE ALREADY SOLD OUT OF TICKETS! And the following is Whitewater Rafting in Pennsylvania, which I am REALLY looking forward to because I love rafting! I go with my family ever summer to go rafting.
Last but never the least I have two papers to right, which means I better get started because they're due on Wednesday. I hope to keep you posted, catch you later!
P.S No matter how hectic my life is, I love every minute of it!
Hiya! My name is Barza Hashmi. Even though I live in Jersey City, NJ, I defiantly commute 6 "LONG" blocks...I emphasize the long. Currently a junior (going to be a senior in Aug., so crazy!), and I'm majoring in Accounting with double minors in Business Law & Spanish. I'm known on campus as the "Buzy B", mostly because I've very active on campus. I'm the Vice President of the Class of 2010, Development Chairperson of the Pavo Society, Member of the Accounting Society and Business Law Association. Since freshmen year, I've learned so much just from being involved on campus. Right now, I'm prepping for my Contemporary Legal Issue class debate. Basically I was presented with an issue, "Should a blank prohibition of cross burning be considered unconstitutional?", and I have to debate the Yes side. It really was a lot a work researching, and I hope when I present the issue I do well. Defiantly stay tune to my blog to hear more about my interesting yet very adventurous life! Catch you later!!
