A Fresh Start...

Hey guys!!! I just wanted to say welcome back to the student blogs, for those of you who have checked-in in the past, and for those of you who are new I want to welcome you as well. I want to take this time, like I didn't last year when I first started this venture, to introduce myself. My name is Robert Duliba and I am a sophomore here at the University of Scranton. I have changed my major just recently over the summer. I am now a Communications/Public Relations major; a drastic change from my Biochemistry/Pre-Med major I was in last year. Everyone keeps asking me why did I change my major? It wasn't because of my grades, it wasn't because I didn't wanted to do all of the work that was involved, it was because I wasn't happy in my previous major and I've always want to be in Communications. So, here I am today, a Communications major and am very happy with the change. It is definitely a fresh start for me this year.

I have been extremely busy ever since last semester ended. I had a full-time job over the summer at the U's Visitor Center. I was an Orientation Assistant (OA) over the summer as well. I also moved in a week early to help with Transfer Orientation and Fall Move-In. Fall Move-In is when upper classmen with moving in all of the freshman. It's a lot of work but it's a nice way to show how great the community is here at Scranton; to the point where we'll move in stuff for freshman. So, pretty much I haven't had a break in a long time; hence why I am so excited for Fall Break next month.

Classes started 3 weeks ago. I'm taking 16 credits, that 5 classes plus a gym class. I'm taking Theology I, Communication Theory, Interpersonal Communication, Composition, Psychology, and Cardio Fitness. On top of those classes I'm very involved in a bunch of clubs. I'm currently in Yearbook where I'm the Junior Editor of the Student Life Session, I'm a member of USPB (University of Scranton Programming Board), I'm in CAC (Colleges Against Cancer) where I'm the co-chair for Advocacy, and I'm also a blogger. As you can see I'm very very busy!!!! In a way it's a good thing. I'm getting alot of say in what goes on here at the U. It's also keeping me on top of my studies as well; hard to believe but it is. During Orientation I told the incoming freshman that the only way to get the "full" college experience is to get involved. Yes you are coming to school first so never get in-over your head. Join things you are going to like not because your friends are joining it.

This is should be a great year! Not to mention that at the end of next month the first ever "The Office" convention is going to be held in Scranton. So, for those of you who are interested in The Office go to www.theofficeconvention.com for more information!

I've decided to do something new for this year. I'm going to end each of my blogs with a quote. So, here we go with the first one

If we always do what we've always done, we will get what we've always got
