Regular Decision Invited Student Updates!
First of all, I want to extend my personal congratulations to all of our Regular Decision students who have been invited to the Providence College Class of 2013. Your accomplishments both inside and outside of the classroom are truly outstanding, and you (and your parents and teachers!) should be very proud of all you have done during your high school years.
Now that decision letters have been mailed, here are some upcoming dates to keep in mind for our Regular Decision invited students:
*Invitations to join the Providence College Class of 2013 Official Network will be e-mailed to you later this week. This social network will provide you with the opportunity to interact online with admission counselors, current PC students, and other members of the Providence College community. Keep an eye on the e-mail address you gave us in your application for that invitation.
*Liberal Arts Honors Program invitations and merit scholarship awards are mailed separately from decision letters. The committee on admission has met in small groups to discuss Honors Program candidates for the last two days, and we will all meet together tomorrow to finalize the Honors Program invitations. Letters inviting students to join the Honors Program will likely be mailed this Friday (or early next week - I'll let you know!).
*Need-based financial aid packages are also mailed separately from decision letters, and we expect financial aid information to go out in early April. I will give you a more exact timetable as the Office of Financial Aid completes their process.
*Many invited students want to come visit campus (again) before deciding where to attend college for the next four years. There are a number of campus visit opportunities available prior to the Enrollment Deadline of May 1st.
-Student-led campus tours are offered Monday through Friday at 9:30, 11:30, and 2:30; and on Saturdays at 11:30 and 2:30. Please note, however, that there are no tours scheduled over Easter Break (April 9-13). No reservations are required for campus tours; simply visit the Admission Reception Center in Harkins Hall at the appropriate time.
-Day Visits provide invited students the opportunity to "shadow" a current PC student for the day; you will be able to attend class, have lunch one of our dining halls, and see your Ambassador host's residence hall. Please note: Day Visits must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance, and we are limited to 20 Day Visits per day. So, if you have a date in mind, please call our office at (401) 865-2535 soon to schedule your Day Visit!
-Finally, you will soon be receiving an invitation to our Family Day event coming up in April, where the entire campus community will come together to welcome all invited students to the Class of 2013. We hope that you will take advantage of these opportunities to visit campus over the next few weeks as you finalize your college plans!
Again, congratulations to all of you who have been invited to the Class of 2013 at PC. Should you have questions over the next few weeks, please don't hesitate to e-mail your admission counselor, ask our student bloggers, or post them here on my blog. I wish you all the best as you make your final college decisions!!
*Scott
