Class of 2013 Official Network Launched Today
To all of you invited to PC during the Early Action review: the Providence College Class of 2013 Official Network went "live" today. Please check the e-mail account you supplied on your application for the access link.
This network is designed to bring Providence College to you. You will find practical information about visiting before May 1, orientation updates, and campus contact information. More importantly, you'll find students, faculty, and staff available to answer your questions.
On the Providence College Class of 2013 Official Network, you can also:
•Receive updated enrollment information
•Network with other invited students
•Chat with current PC students
•Check out campus photos
•Link to admission blogs
If you have questions or difficulty gaining access to the network, please e-mail me at admission@providence.edu or post a comment here.
Students who are invited to PC during the Regular Decision process will receive the access information for the network shortly after they receive their decision letters.

After the students in the class of 2013 have decided to commit to PC, do you invite students who were not originally in the Honors Program to join? (Since, I'm sure, not all original invited students plan on enrolling?)

To M.O.,
Good question - but the answer is no, we do not.
You're right that not every student who is selected for the Liberal Arts Honors Program decides to attend PC, and we build this in up front. So, while we only have about 125 spaces in the Liberal Arts Honors Program, we actually make close to 500 Honors Program "offers," knowing that not every student we invite will choose PC.

(In Response to previous question) I know you gave out Honors Program invitations in the Early Action round and the rest were saved for Regular Decision. But do you go back and consider the Early Action students in comparison to the Regular Decision students for those extra spots? [I'm just wondering what my chances are, as an Early Action candidate who was not originally invited into the program].

To M.O.,
We do reconsider all EA invited students who were not originally invited into the Liberal Arts Honors Program. However, it is extremely rare for a student who didn't receive an invitation to LAH at Early to be invited at Regular - no more than 2 or 3 students each year (and some years, there are none). Since the review is very consistent from Early to Regular, we know the academic credentials we are looking for at Early Action, and they are not any different at Regular Decision. I wish the answer was more promising, but the reality is that it is highly unlikely.
