The Family Day Weekend Recap... In Pictures
To all of our accepted students and families who attended Family Day 2008 this weekend - thanks for coming! Saturday's sunshine just proves once again that you can't always trust the weather reports. We kept hearing last week about the 1-2 inches of rain we'd be receiving on Saturday, but instead, the weather turned out to be great!! For those of you who couldn't make it this weekend, here's the Family Day recap - in pictures...
The calm before the storm, so to speak... This is Friday afternoon after the Family Day setup of Mullaney Gymnasium was complete.
That's the "before" picture - here's are the "during" shots...
Many thanks to all the members of our campus community who took part in Family Day activities - faculty, staff, and students all helped out in so many ways. Special thanks to members of the Admission Ambassadors and Friars Club, who helped to keep things very organized, even with the large crowd.

...and then doing their thing - pointing out the sights on campus during a "trolley tour."
Here are those faculty and staff members I was talking about... representing every academic department and office on campus, and answering questions from our prospective families:

Once again, I hope that all of you who visited Saturday enjoyed your experience and had many of your PC questions answered. Congratulations to those of you who stopped by the Office of Admission with your Enrollment Reservation Form - and welcome to the Class of 2012!!

Scott,
Just wanted to say great job this past weekend to all the Ambassadors - and admission counselors who worked the Family weekend. The whole weekend has convinced my daughter Providence is the place. I have one question - in submitting the deposit is priority given to dorm selections based on when deposits are received?
Thanks.

Hi Mike,
Thanks for posting - and glad to hear your daughter enjoyed her Family Day experience!
As to your question, yes, housing selection is done on a "rolling basis" - after students submit their Enrollment Deposits, they will receive their housing forms from the Office of Residence Life. The students who return their housing forms to Residence Life first will be assigned housing first - meaning they have the best chance of being placed in their top choice residence hall.

Hi Scott and all the admissions staff,
Thanks so much for an amazing day on Saturday. It made me love PC so much more than I already did! The Friars tour guides were really great - tell them I said thank you for everything!

I am so impressed. My daughter knew Providence was the school for her, and after attending on Saturday, I am delighted that she will be spending her college years in such a dynamic and caring community. My daughter's enrollment form was in the mail on Saturday night. Thanks to all the Friars for being so hospitable.

Dear Scott..
I am also the parent of an admitted student and agree with the above posters - the staff and students at Providence were so welcoming on Family Day - if we didn't already know P.C. was the right choice for my daughter, how could we not have chosen P.C. after that day. Our daughter loves your school, and as parents, we couldn't be happier with her choice.
Thank you.
