Hi Scott---I love your blog. I was wondering if you could comment on the on-campus social life, specifically music?!? What sort of concerts have you had recently? Any chance of Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood anytime soon?

I have a strange feeling that "Tiffany" might be one of our Admission Ambassadors... Yes, I am happy to admit, I went to the Carrie Underwood/Keith Urban show in Connecticut Thursday night - it was phenomenal, by the way!
As for on-campus musical guests, PC's Board of Programers typically brings in some pretty big-name acts each year. I don't know that Carrie or Keith are going to be making an appearance anytime soon, but we have had the All-American Rejects, Guster, Howie Day, Vertical Horizon, Wyclef Jean, Ben Folds, Matt Pond PA, and Muse on campus over the last few years. There are also a TON of opportunities to see regional, local, and student bands both on and off campus.
The city of Providence has a really great live music scene, no matter what type of music you're interested in. Big-name pop and rock (and yes, even country!) artists regularly perform at the Dunkin' Donuts Center, the 12,500 seat home of PC Friar Basketball in downtown Providence. Smaller venues across the city also feature numerous alternative and indie rock groups, up-and-coming acts, and some cover bands as well multiple times per week. If you like live music, you'll have plenty of choices in Providence!
