Thanks for making such great posts throughout the application process! I tune in everyday!
Just a quick question - when do the annoucements of merit scholarships for EA accepted students go out?

hello!
This is my first time reading this blog, and I love it!
I have a quick question: if I applied Early Action and did not turn in the CSS Profile already, is there any other way to get financial aid, or was that my only chance? Thanks!
I hope to see an acceptance letter coming soon!!

Do the rejection letters get mailed out the same day as well?

RE: Merit Scholarship/Liberal Arts Honors Program Letters
Students who have been invited into the Honors Program (and therefore received a merit scholarship) will be notified by another letter in the mail. These letters are likely to go out before January 1.
By the way, all merit scholarships awarded through our office are tied directly to the Liberal Arts Honors Program - meaning any student who is invited into the Honors Program will receive a merit scholarship (and any student who is not invited into the program will not receive a scholarship). There was/is no separate application to be considered for the Honors Program - the top academic performers in our applicant pool are automatically considered for inclusion.

RE: "rejection letters"
All decision letters (invite, defer, and deny) have been released and were mailed at the same time (we don't send out one type of letter before another at PC).

To Victoria (RE: Financial Aid)...
Students who haven't met the Early Action financial aid deadlines will be rolled over into the Regular Decision financial aid group AS LONG AS THEY MEET THE REGULAR DECISION DEADLINE (February 1 for BOTH the CSS Profile and the FAFSA). These students will NOT be penalized in the Financial Aid review (as long as the Profile and FAFSA are in by Feb. 1).
So, a student who misses the EA deadline but makes the Regular Financial Aid deadline would receive his/her financial aid package when the Regular Decision financial aid awards go out in early April.
Students who were accepted Early Action and HAVE MET the Financial Aid Deadlines will receive their need-based aid packages in early February.

How does the admissions team decide on how many scholarships to give to EA candidates versus Regular Admission ones?
Thanks!
