Summer 2007
Although we are a few days away from the official calendar start of the summer, I think June 11 can count!! We have completed another admission cycle, and I hope that all of you seniors out there are enjoying your final days of high school and are excited for your post-graduation plans!!! It's been a while since you've heard from me, and the reasons include spending some time off-campus on our annual admission staff retreat, attending the New England Association for College Admission Counselors (NEACAC) Annual Meeting and Conference, and just plain old vacation!! With all of the travel, application reading, and campus programming admission counselors do throughout the school year, summer is definitely the time for retreats, conferences, and, yes, relaxing on the beach!!
Today did mark the start of our summer campus visit opportunities for juniors (soon to be seniors!!!) looking to get an early jump on seeing some colleges this summer. I led the Group Information Session this morning and it was a pretty quiet first day of visits-- only three families in attendance at the session this morning. (But wait until July and August... it'll be a different story then!!! So this peace and quiet is nice!!!).
As the Admission staff spends the summer preparing for the upcoming year, I will not have quite as much to say on this blog as I've had for the past 8 months or so. While you will still hear from me occasionally this summer, this blog will return in full force in late August as we get ready for our fall travel season!!! Have a great summer!!!
