End of the Semester @ PC
Hi everybody! Long time, no chat...
Yesterday marked the final day of exams for the spring semester here at PC, which means campus is very quiet today. Almost all of our underclassmen have headed home for the summer, although all of our seniors are still on campus for their Commencement Week activities. Our graduation date is this Sunday, May 20, and the realization that four years of college are over has started to sink in for many of our seniors. A few of the counselors from the office had lunch with my fellow blogger (and soon to be PC graduate) Jackie on Monday, and she definitely echoed that sentiment-- excited about the future (especially now that she does have a job lined up!!! Congrats!!) but sad that she is leaving the campus she's called home for the last four years. Jackie-- we all appreciate the work you did in our office over the past semester and we wish you the best of luck post-graduation!!!
The admission staff is currently wrapping up the end of this year's admission cycle, and we are preparing for our staff retreat next week where we will talk about how this year went and about plans for next year. Although the summer months are less hectic in our office than many other times of the year, we spend a great deal of time preparing for the next year; reworking programs, creating new publications, starting new office initiatives, and planning travel schedules for the fall. We also will welcome many soon-to-be seniors in high school to our campus in June, July, and August, as many students will tour college campuses over the summer in order to start narrowing down the list of schools they will apply to in the fall.
I hope you are enjoying the spring weather-- we certainly are here in Providence!!! Have a great week!!
