The Last Days of August

Hey All,

I can't believe that September is only a couple of hours away.

Let me tell you about the rest of my first week of classes. After working on some homework Wednesday night, I headed down to the student union in Cosgrave. I worked out on some of the cardio and nautilus equipment, and then I enjoyed watching some TV with some of my friends.

On Thursday, I did the usual class, lunch, work, class routine...After my last class, however, I went to a couple of meetings. The first meeting was all about Peer Tutoring. For the third consecutive year, I am going to be a peer tutor. At no cost to the students, peer tutoring is a program that allows students to help other students in their studies. The tutors are available for almost any subject imaginable. The tutors, are paid by the college, and believe me, the extra cash really comes in handy.

My other meeting was about the student run newspaper, The Belltower. My first article is going to be about the Student Government Association, which plays an important part in my life because I am the President. In addition to writing articles, I am also going to assist with the production of the paper. Thanks to working on my high school yearbook for three years, and being the editor my senior year, I will have plenty of experience to utilize.

Today, I headed into Johnstown to pick up my contacts, and so far, they seem to be working greatly. Tonight, while I am on duty, I plan to watch a couple of movies with a couple of friends. Let the good times roll...

The Beginning of the End...

Wow! I can't believe that three years of college has already gone by. It seems like only yesterday, that I was a freshman from Arkansas...

I moved in last Saturday, August 18. I had to move in early for RA training. RA training was an interesting experience...it was long, but very informative. The great thing about it was that I got to see some of my friends a week early! I also learned some handy-dandy first aid skills, so if you need someone to get an AED or administer an EPIpen, then I'm your man. Most of the students moved back in on August 25th and the 26th. It was great to see and hang out with everyone again.

My first days of class went pretty well, I already had a large assignment due today, but at least I now have one thing out of the way. On Tuesday, Sue Brugh, the Director of Student Involvement and Leadership, and I hosted the annual club and organization fair. I am thrilled with the amount of people that came out to see what we have to offer.

Thus far today, I went to class, work, and then tour time. Later tonight, I am planning on doing some homework and getting some much needed relaxation.

Go MAC!
