Finishing up the semester...
The semester is quickly coming to an end. I am ready to go home and be with my family, but I am going to miss all of my friends and colleagues at Mount Aloysius College. Cresson and Mount Aloysius have truly become my home away from home. The people that I encounter and interact with are always friendly and warm.
In the next week and a half, I have a couple of papers due. I also have three finals, which I am ready to take. My last day of classes is on Tuesday, May 8. I am staying the night on campus, because I have a strategic planning meeting with Sister Mary Ann Dillon, President, some of the administrative staff members, and some board members. I hope this meeting is similar to the last meeting. I really enjoy hearing and giving my input in the development of the college.
Last night, the Student Government Association held their annual awards banquet. I received a couple of recognitions and awards. I received Mercy Presidential Scholar of the Year for the third straight year. I am hoping to win it again next year. I also was elected as the Student Government President for next year. Laura was elected as Vice President, Jenna was elected as Secretary, and Anthony Distler was elected as Treasurer. I am looking forward to working with my fellow officers and other SGA representatives next year. Children's Advocacy was the winner of Club of the Year. I am so proud of all of the work that we did this year. We truly deserved the award. Laura and I also recognized all of the participants and volunteers of the Relay for Life.
Overall, the night was excellent and moving. It is great to see people recognized for their hard work. Well, I am going to get ready for my last day of Wednesday classes. I can't believe that I am finishing up my Junior year of college....;) (tear)
