I LOVE FOOTBALL (...and turkey)!

Wow! What a weekend. Did you see that game? Steelers, Steelers, Steelers, Steelers! I had to listen to it on the radio. That's ok, still great. Pittsburgh's goin' to the Super Bowl...hey got a feeling! Then there was Big D knockin off the Colts. Good for you guys. Then Denver v. Chargers as the night cap. Way to go Bolts. How are they not going to win with LT? For real.

But there is college, too. Where did all of these trees come from? It's crazy, like all of the sudden there's a little forrest all along the new mall. It's really cool, and it gives it a really nice look. Very feng shui...harmony with nature.

I'm totally about to math it up. Tomorrow is Tuesday. That's all that stands between me and my turkey. Delicious, moist, warm, gravy covered, stuffing infused, succulent Turkey! Turkey! I hope you guys are all excited about Thanksgiving, too. Enjoy your family, enjoy the football. And don't forget to actually be thankful for what you have. Be nice, don't be salty when your little cousins are running riots all over the house. Just enjoy the scene. I'll see you guys about 5 lbs. from now.

Enlightenment In and Out of the Classroom

You can feel me coming...

A new vibration. From afar you'll see me...I'm a sensation. I'm a sensation. That's my favorite line from one of my favorite movies. The soundtrack rocks as well...who can beat The Who? And yes, it makes me want to jump up out of the chair. Because it is awesome. I know, you probably haven't ever seen it. That's ok. I know you're just not enlightened yet. You have to go somewhere you can get enlightened first, like MAC.

And speaking of enlightenment, I got my research paper back on Zen Buddhism. It was the best paper I've ever written. And I got a B on it! Awesome. Even though it was not the A I was striving for, I love it. Because I gave it my full effort. You don't even want to know how much thought I put in to it. It may have only been scored a B, but if you understand Zen, you know that you could never get a perfect grade when you try to explain it. I also have my Women's History draft due. I actually decided to do my paper on one of the Sisters of Mercy who founded Mount Aloysius College. She was one tough cookie. This is probably the first time I've thought of a nun as a total pioneer.

What else, what else? Oh, started studying Christianity in World Religions. Right now we are looking at the transition from Judaism to Christianity, which is really neat.

Tomorrow is Monday, and that's ok. I only have a few more classes this week, and then it's all gravy. Yum, gravy. And remember, gravy equals turkey day which is this week! Mmmm...turkey.

Hope to see you on campus soon!

Come to my house and be one of the comfortable people...

OOOOOOhhhh, Yeahhh!

OHHHHHHHHH! It's the Mountie Madness, Brother!
Despite, my not-so-stellar impersonation of the Macho Man, I think that Mountie Madness is gonna be really cool. We get to see the basketball teams, a dunk contest, and earn a chance to win a free trip to Atlantic City. I really, really REALLY want to win that trip! Actually, the last time I visited Atlantic City, I ended the weekend 200 bucks ahead. Guess you could say I got lucky.

I've been hearing about The Madness for a while now and I've been anxiously awaiting my chance to see the basketball team. I feel un-collegiate because I haven't gone to anything other than one volleyball game. Sorry women's soccer...I'll get you next time around.

I won't lie to you. The big man is tired. But tired is not dead. So I'm going to class, and then I going to get mad with the mad Mounties. I'm talking mad. Like, Incredible Hulk mad. Or like the Madness himself, ascending to the top rope for the Macho Elbow......OOOOOOOhhhhhhhhhh, Yeah!

Don't You Wanna Be A Mountie, Too?

Yo!

Ah, Open House was held this morning. Everyone who came for a visit was like, "Oh, wow! Mount Aloysius College is awesome, sign me up!" I'll be excited to see new faces on campus in the fall. While I was studying for an exam in the Library, tours were coming through, showing off the computers, showcasing our large selection of books and the nice study areas. Once a student visits Mount Aloysius College, he/she will not need to look any further!

I also have something to say about religion class. If you have a religion course that gives you new insights on how traditions began, and it's different from what you have learned, it's amazing new knowledge, baby! You can incorporate it into your life, or if it's not to your taste, you don't have to live by it. Just accept it as a differing view. That's called tolerance. And if this is what I get from Judaism, I can't wait until we study Christianity. College-level religion rocks!

If you have already visited Mount Aloysius College, right on! If you haven't visited yet, you can schedule a visit with the friendly people in the Admissions Office, and you can ask them what's new at MAC.

Turn someone's frown upside down (I suggest tickling)...

Time to Schedule

Hey, Guys!

Time to blog it up. I just came from religion class where we looked at Judaism. I'm trying to get something new out of that class, but I've already know a lot about Judaism. Thirteen years of Catholic school will do that to you. I'm a little bit tired today. My little brother got Guitar Hero last night, and now we can battle each other for rock n' roll immortatlity. It's really difficult to put down.

Today I'm scheduling for next semester. I'm building my schedule so that I have a lighter load on Mondays and Wednesdays with Fridays free so I can pick up some extra hours at work. However, I am scheduling an action-packed Tuesday and Thursday. The class times are cool and the subject matters seem to be excellent. I will complete my final math requirement next semester, which is great because math has never been my favorite subject. I have an American History class, so that will be pretty cool. I'm also enrolling in Special Moral Issues. I also have a politics class and a literature class, so it looks like I'm going to be doing a lot of reading and writing next semester. I like to read, however, it quiets my screaming brain. I'm lovin' my experience at Mount Aloysius. BUT...that's enough for now. I hope you voted yesterday!

Just Another Manic Monday...

Morning people!

AHHHHHH, how's everybody? Yes, it is a beautiful day outside. Yes, I am all caught up on my work. Yes, I do get to return to class, learn, socialize, speaking my mind, all my favorite stuff. But I'm still hurting from the weekend. I'm a big guy, and I'm crushed. I'm wearing my Steeler jersey but I'm still feeling bummed. Steeler season '06 is just not happening. Ben breaks all of his personal best in passing, but the turnovers are killer. This is like the third week in a row that we won all the major categories and still lost a major game. Oh, it just hurts.

I need a spark, something to get me going again. I'm chilling out on campus for a little bit today to do research in the library. They have an extensive collection of history text and monographs, so I should have no trouble. But, if you know me, sometimes I seem to make my own trouble. There I go, whinning again. So, enough, it's Monday, deal with it. Get pumped, move ahead. Get over the Steelers and the loss to Denver. Well, I'm gonna try to get motivated, I hope you do the same. Once I shake free of this Monday, I'll be back with the normal good cheer. Now I'm gonna go find the guy who invented Monday, and calmly discuss why this day needs to not follow Sunday. I'm just kidding!

Stick by your team!

Remember, Remember the 5th of November

I remember. Remember, remember the fifth of November... the gunpowder treason and plot, I know of no reason why the gunpowder treason should ever be forgot!

Hey, guys what's up? If you've seen V for Vendetta you're probably like, "That's awesome!" If you haven't seen it, you've probably moved along by now. I totally love that movie! I haven't figured out whether it's an action movie or political satire. Either way, it rules! Voila!

Now, to business. The introduction to to my history essay is due. It's been a while since I've written a big old paper. Foot notes, well-developed concepts, and such. But Mao Zedong's China was so complex, that paper will flow out of my brain and onto the paper by itself. Judaism and math are on the agenda for tomorrow, and if it all works out, I'm going to chill out in Cosgrave between classes and catch The Price is Right. The largest plasma screen TV on campus is located downstairs in Cosgrave near the pool table and air hockey table...right next to the bookstore where you can get your books and cool MAC sweatshirts. Hint, hint... like size XXXL, blue...you know, it's almost Christmas...

Well, it's time to hit the hay. Go watch V for Vendetta, you'll thank me later.

Stand up for the truth!

November, It's Turkey Time, kids!

Gobble, Gobble!

Well, it's the eleventh month on the calendar, and there's a lot of stuff going on in my life. It was my old man's fiftieth birthday on Thursday, so we went to Applebee's to watch some football and to have a nice dinner. And what else, other than old man's birthday do I love about November? TURKEY! Thanksgiving, food, football, and family. That's just good wholesome fun, baby. Oh yeah, and then there is Black Friday! I hate shopping. Yuck!

But yes, I have been going to class, too. I have math class in a few minutes. Prof. Bowers is cool and I always enjoy that. However, I'm totally bummed that we are finished with the religions of the East in Dr. Rohlf's class. Since I don't know as much about Eastern Religion as I do with Western Religion, it was awesome to be exposed to ideas that I never studied. That's college life for you!

The introduction to our essay is due in Eastern History, and I'm doing my essay on the destruction of temples and martial art schools during Mao Zedong's cultural revolution in China. Imagine the complete and total elimination of 2000 years of history, I mean like wow! That should be an interesting paper.

Just get ready guys, the crush will be on soon enough. Try to stay as far ahead, or at least as on pace as you can. I know all of you guys are up to it, you totally rule! Take it easy!

Bundle up from the autumn chill!
