Let Me Introduce Myself!
How's it going future Mounties?
It's super-awesome to make your acquaintance. My name is Adam, and I'm a first-year transfer student here at Mount Aloysius College. When you visit campus, you will notice me right away. I'm that guy who is always ducking under the doorways and trying to get past other students in the hall without running them over. I know I look intimidating, but in reality, I like to think I'm just a big ole' cuddly grizzly bear.
I was at another college as a history major and offensive tackle on the football team, but that ship has sailed. Now I am totally pumped to be a part of the History/Political Science Department here at Mount Aloysius College. And yes, if it sounds like I'm a nerd for history, it's because I am. History rocks! What I like about the liberal arts background of the College is that I have a lot of options when designing my schedule.
As far as my classes go, I have mathematics with Prof. Bowers. Math, ouch. Not my strength. I have Cultural Literacy Seminar with Dr. Stere. I like this class because all the students in there are transfers, too, so we all get to know each other. Dr. Rolfe is my professor for World Religions. That's a class I can really get into because I like reviewing different cultures and evaluating their views on spirituality. I also have Dr. Smith for two history classes: Women's History and History and Politics of the Far East. Politics of the Far East is definitely going to be my favorite just because the subject matter is really interesting to me. Dr. Smith even referenced my favorite book ever, Tao of Pooh, by Benjamin Hoff!
That's about all I have for now. Don't worry, there will be more, much more. I hope you guys are as excited about attending Mount Aloysius College as I am! Well, I have to get cracking on my homework, or they will never let me be president of the universe. So, best of luck and if you see me around campus, please say hi!
