Name: Sander Vanoutryve
Year: Sophomore
Hometown: Izegem, Belgium
Major: Recreation Management Fitness Track
Why I chose LHU and what I love about it: : I was looking for a medium sized university in the United States that had Athletic Training. I went to the EducationUSA Office in Belgium and told them what I was looking for and Lock Haven was one of the schools that came up. I then contacted the admissions person at LHU and I got the information I needed to apply. When I found out I was accepted I was really excited. I also contacted the coach and let him know I was interested in playing Basketball. I came to Lock Haven and tried out for the team. I love living in my dormitory with the other American and international students. We have fun, go on trips, and I learn a lot. I also changed my major to Recreation management because I learned that is what I want to do is help others to stay healthy. It is a good program. I work in the international office on my space time but I spend most of my time playing on the basketball team and I volunteer in the community sometimes. You can see my professional talks about my experience at Lock Haven online!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLdldLmeUJo ; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3yXKqciN4o;
Clubs/Organizations that I am involved with or plan to become involved: Men's Basketball Team, Phi Beta Delta Fraternity, International Student Association

Oh my, the last 3 weeks of this academic year have arrived.
This year has gone by so fast, it's unbelievable. It's been a
year filled with fun, homework, and workouts.
I've enjoyed this year as much as I did last year, but it sure
went faster than last year.
Last weekend we had the Third Eye Blind concert at our school,
it was pretty nice, even it wasn't really my favorite type of music.
So we got 2 weeks of school left, and another week of Finals.
It will get busy from this point on to May 11th, but I'll try to enjoy
it as much as possible.
Have a great week,
Sander
Oh my god, time is flying.. Only 6 more weeks until Summer break is here!
It's getting a lot nice out but he downside too is that teachers are assigning a lot
more homework too.. But it's the last push before a summer full of fun back home..
Have a great week,
Sander
Another week in the Haven.. 7 weeks untill the end of this semester.
It's going by so fast, it's unreal. But at least I have something really
nice to look out for: seeing my family.
It's been quiet lovely out in Lock Haven lately, instead of all the rain
we usually get. Guess the Spring is in the air?
Another week full of assignments, tests, .. Oh well, it keeps me busy.
Enjoy the rest of your week,
Sander
Back on the grind of doing work and going to classes after a great break..
My trip to Colorado Springs,CO was one of the best I ever made.
The nature, culture, weather, and laidback lifestyle was what I needed
to charge back up to finish this semester on a strong note.
7 more weeks until the end of the semester, it will be a long 7 weeks filled
with work. But the good thing is that the weather will start getting better, so
everyones mood automatically goes up.
Have a great week,
Sander
Last week before Spring Break. It's almost here.
Let's say I'm really looking forward to the break.
A break from Lock Haven and all the work/stress
of being a college student.
I'm going to Colorado Springs with a friend, my
first West Coast experience! I can't wait!
Enjoy your week,
Sander
This week started off beautiful.. We've had two beautiful days already..
The sun is shining and the environment looks so magical..
Already another week into this Spring semester, it goes by crazy fast!
Two more weeks (including this one) untill we go on Spring Break. It's
safe to say that I can't wait. It will be first real break since school started,
now Basketball is over.
Hope you guys have a great week,
Sander

Hi everyone,
It's another beautiful but cold day in Lock Haven.
Another week into the semester, it's going by fast.
This week (and next week) are going to be so packed
with work, basketball, and in the end some festivities.
I got all these exams and assignments due by the end
of the week/beginning of next week, it's insane.
But the good thing is, friday is my 21st birthday! I can't
wait to see what all will change when I turn the "big" 21
in the U.S. It probably won't be that special, because of
back home I can already do things that you can't do here
until you are 21 (read legally drink, ..).
So it will be a busy, interesting, and fun week.
Enjoy your week,
Sander.
Hi everyone,
Today is Valentine's Day! A day of loving and being loved..
You all have someone that has that special place in your heart..
I also realized it's a bigger deal out here in the U.S. than it is in
Belgium.
Oh and it has been snowing over the last couple days, even today!
I'm loving it, because we didn't really get a winter at all this year..
Have a great day,
Sander
I'm already fully back in the swing of classes, basketball, and everything else that comes along with being a college student-athlete.
It has been pretty nice out lately, especially for the month of February. The sun was shining, it didn't feel freezing outside. So it pretty much didn't feel like winter no more. Hopefully it stays this way.. But you never know in the Haven.
Classes are still going good and are still interesting so so far so good.
Enjoy your week guys.
