Why I chose LHU and what I love about it: I chose LHU because of the beautiful campus, the Physician's Assistant program and it was on the recommended list of McKelvey Scholar Universities. I love how helpful all of my professors have been and how they truly want us to succeed. My favorite things about the campus are the new Health Science and Alumni Buildings, the recreation center and our Starbucks coffee shop.
Clubs/Organizations I'm involved with or plan to become involved: Honors, Intramural volleyball and Health Science Club.

Last week of class!

Hello everyone!

Well, this is the last week of classes for us here at the haven. It is really hard to believe that next Friday I will be graduating. I just found out that the Health Science program is throwing us a reception before graduation for the graduating senior health science majors and their families. This will be a great chance for my family to get to meet some of my friends, my professors from undergraduate and the professors I will have in graduate school. I am still so happy with my decision to attend Lock Haven University for undergraduate. I can't say enough nice things about all of the faculty and staff here, especially in the Health Science Department. They are caring and wonderful professors who really love what they do and want to see all of their students succeed. I have had almost every professor in the program and I would love to have any of them as a teacher again. In and out of class they are very personable and are so easy to talk to. Dr. Dixon stands out as one of the best in my head. I had him for both Human Physiology and Exercise Physiology. Even though the material he taught was very difficult, he made it fun and I always looked forward to going to his classes. I'm so happy that I will just be on the second floor of the Health Science building for graduate Physician Assistant school and will still be able to stop by and say hello to my undergraduate professors.
This last week of class should be pretty relaxing. I only have a quiz on Monday then a lab practical on Thursday. This should give me plenty of time for walks on the levee, rollerblading, jogging around town and maybe even a cookout or two. Not sure about everyone else, but I was very excited last week when Grey's anatomy came back on the air. The girls and I made a day out of it ordering Quizno's party platter for dinner, watching Grey's together then went out in town for a little fun. Well I hope everyone has a great day and look for another post soon!

Big weekend ahead!

Hello everyone and TGIF! This was a very busy week. Gave a presentation on the HPV vaccine for my Women’s Health Issues on Thursday, and had my last Biochemistry lab of the semester! So happy!
I’m involved in the honors program on campus and it is required that each week we attend an “activity group” to gain an honors hour. This week I went to a group called sink or swim on Wednesday night. We did water aerobics in the school’s pool. Afterwards was my favorite part, a few of us sat in the sauna. I think it’s my new favorite place on campus.
This weekend is going to be pretty eventful. Tonight all of my friends and I are taking my roommate Jen out to eat for her birthday. Pretty sure we are going to the Olive Garden in Williamsport then probably just having a movie night tonight. Saturday will be the last open house of the semester and my twenty-first and final open house.
Hope to see some of you there!

Another busy week at the haven

Hello!
Last week was another busy week for me. My highlight was going out for wings on Wednesday night. At hanger 9 you can get all you can eat wings and they are pretty much amazing. Powder puff practice last week went great, turns out I'm going to be the quarterback of the senior team so I'm pretty pumped up about that. We had another practice tonight and I think we are getting the hang of all the plays and pass routes, plus having a blast while we are at it. For the game we are also collecting money for the Relay for Life that will be held in the student recreation center on Friday April 11 and Saturday April 12th. Unfortunately, with my big day on Saturday starting with my last open house and ending with our football game I don't think I will be on a team this year for Relay.
This week I also get to celebrate with my one roommate Jen as she turns 22 on Tuesday! I live in a house off campus with three other girls, and over the years we have become more like sisters than best friends.
Well be sure to check back later in the week for another post, hope everyone has a great day!

Little update

Hello everyone,

My life is currently very busy with school, work, trying to get ready for graduation and graduate school and just getting back into the groove of things after spring break and easter. I really can't believe that I only have five more weeks as an undergraduate. The time has gone so fast, I feel like I just graduated from high school and now I have my cap and gown for college.
Like I said these past few weeks have been pretty crazy in my life. This year for spring break four of my best friends and I went to Clearwater Florida to watch the philly's play spring training games. We were in sunny Florida for 8 days living it up. We had so much fun and it was very hard to board the plane to come back to PA!
Since I have been back to school I have been having papers, exams and labs due about every day it feels like. This is why the Starbucks on campus is such a huge part of my life, haha, I need my caffeine to keep me going.
It's not all about work though, this year I also decided to play powerderpuff football and tonight is the "senior team" first practice. Should be a lot of fun. Our game is April 12th at the football stadium. The same day as my last open house!
Well I'm going to go to the gym, hope everyone has a great day! :)
