Name: Brandon Wilson
Year: Junior
Hometown: Meshoppen, PA
Major: Health Science (Pre-Physician Assistant track)
Why I chose LHU and what I love about it: The reason I chose LHU is one, because of its location. It's not too far away from my hometown and is located in a small town. The town is nice and there is much to do in and around Lock Haven. LHU also has a very competitive Physician Assistant track which will prepare me for Medical School. Lastly, the cost of LHU was the deciding factor. It was the school that was most affordable.
Clubs/Organizations that I am involved with or plan to become involved: Army ROTC, Ranger Club Treasurer, Health Science Club, Intramural Sports, Hospital Volunteer
Other Personal Interests: I enjoy the outdoors and traveling. I have been to Morocco twice now. I also enjoy hanging out with friends, watching movies, and playing sports.

Near the End

Hey everyone sorry its been a while since I put an entry up but it has been hectic as the semester nears the end. I have a test almost every week now and many different events going on throughout campus. The other night Ralphie May the comedian performed in the auditourium which was pretty funny. Tonight I have the a Dining In. Some of you may wonder what this is but it is a tradition that the Army has where all officers go out and eat food and have a good time. This is done to build comradrie and just have a good time. Well I wish you all luck in the college application process and hope you all great success.

ROTC Training Ahead

Hey everyone its been a while since I wrote a blog but its just because I have been so busy with classes, volunteering, and working. I now work at the Fairfield Inn at the Marriott the new hotel that was just finished, I volunteer every Saturday for CAPPA in Williamsport, and have Army ROTC events going on. Speaking of which I have a training event this weekend.

This weekend we will go to Bald Eagle State Park to camp, do land navigation, and situation training exercises. Its exciting and I am looking forward to it. We have a good time and its different than most camping trips people go on.

Where did the time go?

Well this week went by so fast. I have no idea where the time went and found I have a lot of work to do this weekend. I will also be working with CAPPA tomorrow which is an organization that works with at risk youth in the community. I will be travelling to Williamsport tomorrow from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm to volunteer. I have volunteered in my community throughout high school and am so grateful to be able to do it now in college.

I also have some studying to do and hanging out with friends this weekend as well. Got to stay on top of the studies in order to do well! Also you need to let loose and have some fun to relax every now and then. Well its going to be a good weekend and I will update everyone next week but until next time have fun and continue to do good in school!

First Week of School!

Hey everyone! For those of you who started your senior year this year good luck and enjoy! Those who are starting junior year congratulations you are almost done! Well this week LHUP started its first week of classes. So far things have gone well. I finished my class today at 9:55. I am looking forward to this year and a good time. All this week I was up at 5:30 am for PT at 6:00 am for the Army ROTC program. It really isn't that bad. I feel great after the work out and awake for my classes.

This year I am running for the SCC senate which is our student cooperative council (student government). I am also in charge of a few new service programs in th Health Sciences. I was asked by a professor to be the lead person. Getting involved throughout high school and college allows you to gain experience and make connections. You want to have all these things for applying to college and grad school if you are interested. Well enjoy the here and check back next week!

Hey everyone I hope you are ready to start school whether it be your last year of high school or your first year of college both are fun and very important! We are having our last night together this week before they all leave. It has been a great summer I enjoyed it. This week we start training for Admissions on Wednesday. My one roommate moved into today so there is now 4 of us in the house and we have one more roommate to come up yet.

Once school starts I hope to have more interesting stories about Army ROTC and my classes. If you have any questions about anything feel free to email me as well I will respond. Well good luck and enjoy your last week!

Home for the weekend

Hey everyone I just got back from visiting my family this weekend. I live about 2 - 2 1/2 hours northeast of Lock Haven. My family lives on a dairy farm so I brought back some good food. I got fresh hamburg, roasts, and speedies along with some fresh vegetables which is the best food I think! School is about to start in two weeks and those of you who are coming to Lock Haven I hope you are looking forward to moving into the dorms! You all will have a great time and don't worry its so easy to make friends and get involved here at the Haven just don't be shy!!

Why I chose Lock Haven University

When choosing the school I wanted to go to I considered a number of different factors. First I considered the most important thing academics and reputation for the program I wanted to go into. I am a Health Science Pre-Physician Assistant Major. Lock Haven has a great program for my major and has a cadaver lab here on campus which you normally don't get to go into until you are in graduate school. Next was the setting, I grew up on a dairy farm so I am used to a small town setting and I like it. The campus is beautiful and downtown is not too far and there is plenty to do for those of us who love the outdoors! Lastly the cost of school is important especially when you want to go to graduate school. I don't want to have a big bill coming out from undergraduate school so I looked at cheaper schools as well which offer the same education if not better than a private school. Hopefully all of you looking to go to college look at a number of factors before you go to school and remember you may be there for four or more years so choose carefully and good luck to all of you!

NYC Trip

This past week on Tuesday and Wednesday I went to NYC to visit a friend here from Spain. It was great just spending two days in NYC. I hope to be going to Spain next summer to visit. It was only my second time in NYC and I sitll didn't get to see everything I wanted to see. Also all the students who were here from Europe as part of the FLS program went home this past weekend.

Now I am just giving tours to perspective students for the summer. This weekend I will be lifeguarding for the YMCA on the beach at the river. Its hard to believe summer is almost over though.

Almost Over!!

This is the last week for my two online summer classes! Lately I have had no time to do much between two jobs and my online classes. But with the summer winding down I will finally be able to relax and enjoy the rest of my summer. This week I just got a new car so now instead of peddling my bike around Lock Haven I can now drive which makes it really nice. Next week I have two days off on Tuesday and Wednesday and I will be going to Jersey City, NJ to visit a friend who is here from Spain! I hope to tell all of you about that next week. Also I have been playing soccer with the students that are here from Europe most of them are from Spain.

Summer at the Haven!

This past weekend was the 4th of July and I went with some friends to go camping and watch some fire works. There is plenty to do here in Lock Haven. I have gone swimming in the river a few times and there is a beach here as well by the YMCA. The beach is on the river which is quite nice. Of course I am working to earn some money here this summer and taking two online classes. In my free time I hang out with friends and play soccer with the international students who are here. I watched the Confederation Cup and was dissappointed when Bazil won 3-2 against the US. I also recently just returned from Morocco on a scholarship from the Army ROTC program for Cultural Immersion Internship. I was there for a month.
