"You can't be bored here," declares Lindsey, "there's always something happening on campus or in Burlington."

She certainly knows about being busy. Along with her studies (and scores of other campus events), Lindsey serves as a campus tour guide and is active in "The Grind," Champlain's student coffeehouse.

When asked, "If Champlain College was a car, what would it be?" Her response was: "An Explorer, because it can go just about anywhere." Just like Lindsey.

Growing up in suburban Boston, Lindsey knew she wanted to go "out of state" for college. A Champlain brochure first caught her Mom's attention, so she decided to take a closer look.

"I love Vermont and fall is my favorite time of year," Lindsey adds. So Champlain was added to her list of top schools throughout New England and the Mid-Atlantic.

She and her parents then began visiting campuses. Lindsey advises, "You have to visit. It's hands down the best way to get a 'feel' for the place."

Lindsey's other advice? "Don't be afraid to try all sorts of new things when you get to college. That's what it's all about."

While not a self-proclaimed "outdoorsy" person, Lindsey has definitely taken her own advice. She's gone hiking, skiing and white-water rafting since becoming a Champlain student. "Even after being "tossed" out of the raft three times, I still can't wait for the next trip!"

What's next on the list of places for Lindsey to explore? This spring, she'll join the team of Champlain students studying abroad in Ireland and Scotland.

Lindsey's future career goal (though only a sophomore) is to become a Director of Marketing or Promotions. "Champlain has taught me about collaboration. I've realized I work well as part of a team, and I want to be part of a team that creates something bigger," says Lindsey.

She's already on her way. He's especially fond of camping, biking and the occasional midnight poetry jam with friends.
